A foeder-lagered smoked Baltic Porter. Brewed with a beechwood-smoked malt, then rested on American Oak for over 2 months. A sipper that truly opens up as it warms. Pouring a near black, notes of smoke, subtle anise, and molasses. The complex malt character is truly evident in the taste with deep notes of raisin, dark chocolate, and toasted brown bread. A lingering burnt caramel-like sweetness is cut by a final note of dry oak. Rugen finishes with a smooth and velvety mouthfeel.
