Belgian farmhouse brewery Kerkom, best known for elegant hoppy ales as well as rich, warming dark beers, now offers their first sour-accented brew. Reuss is a 5.8% blend of blond ale (reminiscent of the classic Bink Blond) and young lambic. As always with Kerkom, the emphasis is on delicate, perfect balance, and brewer Marc Limet has opted for a subtle blend — the mash is made up of 80% blonde ale, which utilizes all Pilsner malt and very light additions of two Belgian hops, and 20% spontaneously fermented lambic supplied by traditional producers.
