De Dolle is a idiosyncratic brewery in Esen, Belgium. Owner and Brewer Kris Herteleer has been called the Willy Wonka of Beer and for good reason. De Dolle bottles (Oerbier, Arabier, Dulle Teve and more) sport colorful, playful and unique art. A poster of their Stille Nacht beer has adorned our Portland store since 2012, needless to say we are fans. They make some of my favorite Belgian beers, Dulle Teve is my favorite Belgian Tripel on Earth. But this is the first time we have seen Oeral, a Belgian Pale Ale that features De Dolle's signature yeast, but increases their hopping rate. This beer reminds me of the classic De Ranke XX Bitter, but with a more expressive yeast.
