Thoughts on our first two months

When we decided to open Bier Cellar in January, we had grand ideas about what we would build. Through a series of tiny steps, big decision and sleepless nights, what we have is close to what we were aiming to bring to Portland. And it is getting closer every day.
This blog will be used by me, Greg, to let you know the method to our madness. reasons why we carry certain products, about products we are excited about and about events we are stoked about.
For now I just want to say thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way. To our family and friends, who stocked shelves on late nights before we opened, who offered us support, encouragement, advice and help. To our customers, who have humbled us with your support, your kind words and your patronage. To our friends at Novare Res ,Rising Tide,Oxbow and Allagash for going above and beyond on support and advice. To MDI Ice Cream for making delicious beer ice cream and mead push pops for our grand opening. To the entire local craft beer scene, for accepting us and encouraging us.
Our goal is to be the bottleshop for people looking for beer, wine, cider and mead that has a sense of place, a sense of craft. In other words, made by people who give a shit about their products.
